As we start the process of wrapping up the school year, I would like to thank everyone for their role in helping to make the 2012-2013 school year a success. It has been a fantastic year for our school community. We have had success in our classrooms, as well as with our athletic, arts and activities programs. Recently, we were recognized as a California Distinguished School (DS). The Distinguished Schools award has been eleven years in the making. We began the rigorous application process after we were invited to apply last November, and through the talented writing efforts of our Distinguished Schools writing team along with our successful validation visit in March we secured our DS award. Click the link to learn more about this prestigious award and the news release identifying all of the 2013 Distinguished Middle and High Schools posted online at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ under more What’s New. We also have another accomplishment to celebrate. Last week I was notified by Newsweek that we made the list of America’s 2013 Top High Schools. Click the following link http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/features/2013/americas-best-high-schools.html  to read the entire article for the full list and related content.

This is an exciting time of the year for all of our students, but especially our seniors.  I encourage you to take this time to discuss with your senior student the importance of staying focused academically and behaviorally in order to finish the school year in a positive way. Many events and senior activities are planned for our seniors and we want them to finish strong! Our Baccalaureate ceremony will take place, Sunday, May 19th at 3:30 p.m. in our Theater. Graduation will take place at Grizzly Stadium on Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:30pm. Please see a complete list of senior events included on this web page under Important Senior Information, Senior Bulletin.

Important End of Year Information

Regular Summer School Program

Summer School will begin Tuesday May 28th and end Thursday June 27th. Summer School begins at 8am and ends at 12:30pm.

We hope everyone has a great summer! Take care and keep in touch.
