We hope that all Grizzlies are enjoying their summer break and that they return rested and ready to welcome the 2015-2016 school year which begins on Wednesday, August 5th. Remember that students return to school July 21-23 for schedule distribution. Please see schedule pick-up and Grizzly Freshman Orientation information listed on our website.

Currently on campus we are busy preparing and planning for the upcoming year. This preparation includes completing Phase I of our Shade Structure project which is funded by the Measure P Bond. We also will begin the new school year with the Solar Panel project funded by PFMG Solar that was up and running at the end of last school year. Our staff has also been busy preparing for the new school year. Many of our teachers have been spending some of their summer months taking advantage of professional growth experiences (Attending conferences/workshops, tech training, collaborative planning and course development) that will enable them to offer our students solid learning opportunities. We are now entering into our third year of incorporating the New California Standards into our curriculum (Please see information about the CCSS on the left side of this web page). This new movement which includes the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) will help drive student learning as well as help to prepare our students for college and the workforce.

Los Osos High School is entering its 14th year of operation and we have so much to celebrate at this great school. In less than fourteen years our school has earned a stellar reputation of being a premier high school in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Our students excel in academics, athletics, the arts and activities. Student learning and achievement continues to be our main focus, and we are looking forward to a wonderful year full of opportunity and promise. We do not take any of this success for granted. We understand that the success of our students has been made possible through their hard work and also because of the guidance and support provided by their family and teachers.  Together, we have been able to accomplish many grand things such as earning a California Distinguished School title. Each teacher and staff member is committed to maximizing student learning and achievement, and with your assistance, Los Osos can continue to achieve Grizzly excellence.

Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you on campus.
