Dear Grizzly Nation,

Wow! This school year is going by so fast!  I have enjoyed seeing our Grizzlies work hard in and out of the classroom in order to see our vision become a reality.  That vision is, “all students will graduate ready for college and careers.”  That is what drives us as a staff and that is why each and every one of our students are important.

As we wrap up the third quarter, the focus shifts to gearing up for the final push of the school year with important events such as CAASPP/CAST Testing, AP Exams, prom and yes, our commencement ceremony.

We take pride in our school and the development of our students’ academic success.  This is why our teachers have been working extremely hard to prepare our students for the CAASPP and AP Exams.  Both of these exams are used by our state as part of the California Dashboard which uses five state indicators in order to measure the success of our school. The formula for the college and career indicator, once finalized and released, will include but not be limited to the results from each schools CAASPP and AP Scores.

All of our junior Grizzlies will be taking the CAASPP, all of our senior Grizzlies will be taking the California Science Test (CAST) and many of our 10th – 12th graders will be taking AP Exams.  I want to encourage you all to get plenty of rest before testing days, eat a healthy breakfast and give your best effort! I want all of our Grizzlies to go into this testing season full of confidence in your preparation and abilities.  Below are the dates for these exams.

Testing Dates

CAST Test (12th Grade Only)

  • April 9th & 10th (Science)

CAASPP Test (11th Grade Only)

  • April 9th – 12th (English)
  • April 17th & 18th (Math)

AP Exams

  • May 7th – 18th

Our spring sports season has started with Boys Tennis, Softball, Baseball, Golf, Swim and Track & Field all looking to have strong seasons.  In addition, our Arts Programs are still preparing for upcoming drama productions, chorale and band performances, art exhibits and the spring dance show.  I look forward to seeing Grizzly Nation at these events.

I am proud of your hard work so far but we are not done yet.  Let’s finish the year strong Grizzlies and stay on track to meet our A-G’s.  I believe in and care about all of you!

Claws Up!

Important Message About Deliveries at School

We have examined the practice of dropping off items in our front office. This is a practice that local law enforcement and our school resource officer strongly recommend all schools not allow.  This practice also causes a major disruption in our guidance and front office area. Given the tragedies we have witnessed in schools across the country and the impact this practice has had on our campus, we have decided to take proactive steps to ensure a safe campus, therefore, no items will be accepted for drop off in our front office.  This includes, but is not limited to: food, phones, clothing, money, school work/materials and equipment.  If your son or daughter forgot to bring their lunch, please have them stop by our cafeteria and we will be sure to provide food for him or her.  Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and continued support in working together to provide a safe campus for all of our Grizzlies!
