Dear Grizzly Family,

Thanks to the wonderful work of our staff, student leaders and parent volunteers we are off to a great start to the 2016-17 school year.  A special thank you to our student leaders in ASB, Band, Grizzly Achievement, Cheer and Football for their role in welcoming all of our Grizzlies back on campus. This was a great example of WE>I!

I want all of our Grizzlies to know that our entire staff is dedicated to supporting and guiding you to success.  In addition, our teachers will work to equip our Grizzlies with the skills needed to be college AND career ready.  However, that success does not sit solely on the shoulders of the school. Success begins with the Grizzly mindset of taking ownership in your learning, displaying that Grizzly Grit through difficult times and asking for help as soon as it is needed.  With that said, I challenge all Grizzlies come to school every day on time, complete all assignments and work hard to pass all classes with a C or higher.  By meeting this challenge our Grizzlies will be in position to meet their A-G requirements.  We know that the skills taught while completing the A-G requirements are the key for giving our Grizzlies multiple options beyond high school regardless of the path they take.

Parents, we want to continue to invite you in as a partner with our school and encourage you to be actively engaged in your child’s success.  In order to do that, it is imperative that you sign up for School Loop and monitor your students’ progress daily, stay in communication with teachers to build and maintain collaborative relationships and attend the many parent informative programs we will offer throughout the year.

Los Osos High School is an amazing place to be.  Our staff are passionate about student success and really work hard to be lifelong learners.  This year as a school we are really focusing on increasing our school pride, decrease our freshman failure rates and continue to increase our students who meet their A-G requirements.  Being proud to call Los Osos your school, realizing that failure is not an option and graduating with many options is what we want all of our Grizzlies to experience.

We look forward to continuing to work together to improve student achievement and have an excellent year.

Claws up!
